How do I save items?
Just tell HomeBaseAI in conversation. Type "I have a Samsung fridge in the kitchen," point your camera at a product label, or tap the microphone and describe what you see. The AI extracts the details and saves everything automatically.
What is the Home Health Score?
A number from 0 to 100 that shows how well-maintained your home is, based on maintenance compliance, overdue tasks, coverage, and documentation. It updates weekly. Available with HomeBase Pro.
How much does HomeBaseAI cost?
HomeBaseAI is $5.99/month or $49.99/year after a 7-day free trial. The subscription includes all features: AI conversation, OCR scanning, voice input, maintenance coaching, home health score, seasonal checklists, cost-of-neglect tracking, widgets, and family sharing.
How does Home Setup work?
Say "Home Setup" in the conversation and HomeBaseAI walks you through your major systems one by one — HVAC, water heater, appliances, safety equipment. Scan labels, skip what you don't have, pause and resume anytime. Maintenance reminders are created automatically.
How does the AI work?
HomeBaseAI uses OpenAI's GPT-4o-mini model for conversation. When you send a message, relevant context from your home inventory is sent to OpenAI's API to generate a response. Your data is not stored by OpenAI and is not used for training. OCR (camera label reading) and speech recognition happen entirely on your device.
Does HomeBaseAI work offline?
Your vault data (items, materials, rooms) is always accessible offline. AI conversation requires an internet connection. If you're offline, you can still browse your saved items and detail views.
Is my data private?
Your home data is stored on your device and in your private iCloud. Conversation messages are sent to OpenAI's API for processing but are not stored or used for training. We have no accounts, no third-party analytics SDKs, no third-party tracking, and no ads. Paywall flow diagnostics use Apple-native instrumentation only (OSLog and MetricKit signposts) that stays on your device. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
How does family sharing work?
You can invite family members to share a home via iCloud. Everyone can see and update the same items, rooms, and maintenance tasks. Sharing uses Apple's CloudKit — data syncs through your iCloud accounts, not through our servers.
What happens if I delete the app?
All local data is permanently removed. Shared data in iCloud persists for other family members who still have the app. There is nothing to delete from our servers because we don't have any.
How do I manage my subscription?
Go to Settings on your iPhone > your Apple ID > Subscriptions > HomeBase Pro. You can also tap "Manage Subscription" in the app's Settings screen.
What iOS version is required?
HomeBaseAI requires iOS 17 or later.
