When you sign in to Game Center, Tylde reads your Game Center player identifier. This is a stable, anonymized identifier maintained by Apple — it is not your name, email, or contact info. Tylde uses this identifier to attribute your submissions to your match seat and to look up your friends list within Game Center for friend invites.
Tylde does not collect, store, or transmit your Apple ID, email address, full name, or any contact information.
Tylde stores your local match history (boards you've played, words you've submitted, scores) on your device using SwiftData. This data does not leave your device unless it is part of a match's public record (see below).
Match data — the shared 5×5 board, each player's submitted words, and reveal-time score breakdowns — is stored in Apple's CloudKit public database. These records are keyed by the anonymized Game Center player identifier described above. The records are world-readable to other Tylde players who participate in the same match.
Tylde does not store any personally identifying information in these records. Apple operates CloudKit; Kynoss Studios does not run any servers.
If you enable notifications, Tylde uses Apple Push Notification service (APNs) to deliver reveal-time and friend-invite alerts. The push payload contains only minimal match state (e.g., which match has reached its reveal cutoff). It does not contain personal information.
If you purchase Tylde Pro, the transaction is handled entirely by Apple's StoreKit. Tylde verifies your purchase via Apple's transaction record and unlocks the Pro entitlement on your device. Tylde does not see your payment information.
By design, the match data you generate (your submitted words, your score, your final placement) is visible to other Tylde players who participated in the same match. This is the gameplay loop — it's not a data leak. The data does not include any personal identifier from outside Game Center.
Tylde is rated 4+. We do not knowingly collect any personal data from any user, including children. Game Center identity is provided by Apple and is anonymized.
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and surface a notice in the app on next launch. Continued use after the update constitutes acceptance.
